I covered this peace march in Washington in 2005, not long after I came back from covering the war in Iraq. More than 100 demonstrators were arrested outside the White House. Winter in Philadelphia, 2000

The last couple of days have reached 60 degrees in Philadelphia but it used to snow here in the winter. I grabbed this view looking north from 30th Street Station in 2000, before a parking garage was built offer this section of track. Cardinal Anthony Bevilacqua, 1923-2012

Retired Philadelphia Cardinal Anthony Bevilacqua died last night. Earlier this week, a judge ruled that the aging Catholic leader was competent to testify in an upcoming trial of other priests who have been accused of covering up child sex allegations. I photographed Bevilacqua at this Christmas party photo opportunity about 20 years ago. It was one of my last photos made with black-and-white film.
