Loved ones lost

I have only seen this happen after the Oklahoma City bombing, 9/11 and Hurricane Katrina: Evacuees from New Orleans left messages for missing loved ones on a bulletin board inside the makeshift shelter at the Astrodome in Houston a few days after the hurricane struck in 2005. Flurries on Dilworth Plaza, 2000
Posted by: | Comments
I photographed this family making their way across Dilworth Plaza — on the west side of Philadelphia City Hall in 2000. This space was recently the scene of #OccupyPhilly and is now undergoing an overdue renovation — which will include the construction of a skating rink — although I am already feeling nostalgic about the loss of the old structures which appear in many of my photos. I often photograph foul weather from the City Hall portals because it allows me to keep my optics clean and dry as I watch people venture into the elements.
